Boston George Selects an Inspirational Electronic Dance Music Playlist

Originally from South Yorkshire, DJ and music producer Boston George aka Mathew Hardy is prolific and his music is hypnotic, melodic and full of energy.

A new name to many, Boston George is largely the result of the lockdown era and two very productive years locked up in the studio.

He has already found his way onto taste-making labels such as Cubism and Elastic Dimension and major label interest is growing as the young artist finds support from many top DJs and taste-inspired BBC Introducing. of fellow Yorkshireman Hot Since 82.

Boston George will be streaming on Mixcloud LIVE tonight from another club in Maidstone for a three-hour DJ set starting at 8 p.m. To be paid in advance HERE from 9 p.m. tonight.

He’s curated a playlist of inspirational music for us ahead of tonight’s live stream which you can listen to right now below, including music from Maceo Plex, Hot Since 82, Franky Wah and many more.

Boston George – The One and Only

One of my own productions very inspired by deep sound, one of the first releases of my career, a track that I have always loved.

Maceo Plex & Gabriel Ananda – Lonely Daze

I’ve been a huge fan of Maceo Plex ever since he hit my radar in the early 2010s when he played Plug Sheffield – During lockdown I listened to his Circle on the Hudson River event on repeat. This track contains a description of the emotions for me throughout the pandemic.

Motorcycle – As The Rush Comes (Cristoph Remix)

Christoph being one of my favorite current producers at the moment, did an amazing take on this classic, a challenge for the Flight to Ibiza playlist this year!

Jhonsson – Lost in Mogana

Another from the Knee Deep family catalog and a personal friend of mine’s use of rhythm pianos and deep subs bring out a truly laid back summer patio party vibe.

Hot Since 82 – Buggin’ (with Jem Cooke)

The haunting vocals of Jem Cooke and the stunning production of the deep Don himself Hot Since 82 have stuck with me for years as a lasting Ibiza sound in my mind – a track I just remixed and sent for his remix.

Nathan Fake – The Sky Was Pink (James Holden Remix)

This relatively old diamond that I only met through an ‘Imprey’ producer friend last year, it only took me 2 pieces to fall in love with the quirky production that is James Holden!

Bonobo – Otomo (feat. O’Flynn)

Just came across this piece very recently, mind melting sound offers visions of Africa when you think about it. Deep with a break beat side.

Franky Wah – Dopa La Vita

New release from the almighty Franky Wah on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records. Franky has recently taken over the music scene around the world, and this track gives a good reason why.

Pryda – Julitider

I first heard this masterpiece from the king himself when it was abandoned. I was about 18 at the time, fresh out of my indie/rock roots, I heard my older brother blast it repeating it from the other side of his bedroom door, he had the right configuration.
